Octavio yawns and stretches, landing on his chaise lounge with a thunf. It seemed like forever since he’d had a moment to himself, what with all the meetings and projects and ceremonies and paperwork. Tay hadn’t really understood the gravity of being emperor some five years ago, but now that he’d taken responsibility, it seemed ever-present.
He’d finished for today, though. There had to be some balance between work and life—he couldn’t lie around all day like he used to, but he couldn’t do a 160-hour workweek either. It would be better to have a daily cut-off so he could relax without thinking about the future of the Octarian empire (inevitable), starting today.
Despite this, he decides to switch on his shellphone. It had been blowing up with messages recently, so he’d just turned it off to forget. If anyone REALLY wanted to speak with him, they should just ask in person. Scrolling through, he ignores all the ones that are definitely work related, before stopping and gazing in horror. Several missed texts from Lulu!
How long had it been since their last meet-up? He’d had all eight tentacles tied up with everything. At least she was probably busy too, what with her new ruling responsibilities, her husband—AND HER PREGNANCY?!—instead of reading through what he’s missed, he dials her number.
“Hello?! I JUST got your messages, is everything alright with you? Got time to come over?? This is a formal invitation—”
“Aww, that sounds sweet. The splatfest are great festivals to hang out at. Usually Collin and I make time at least one night for a date. I bet she really apricated it,” Lulu hummed.
“So important stuff. Always good to talk about that stuff to know which path you guys are taking and whether it aligns or not. Always be open ears to ideas thought. Lulu convinced me to stay in the valley. I wanted us to move out into the city. Heh, glad I listened. Her folks are helpful,” Collin chuckled.
“He’s fine. Still a squishy and not use to every sensation,” Collin remarked to Tay’s comment.
Once on the music, Lulu listened in. Liking what Tay was saying, she wrote things down; Collin taking Seth to give Lulu space to write notes.
“Course I’m up for performing. Though, still got a bit of baby weight I still got to burn off,” Lulu chuckled, “Pants aren’t fitting the same. But once ready, totally ready to perform. I just hope the octarians here are receptive to me. I want to give them a good performance and them have a good time.”
